Replay Gain and peaks that will clip if gain written in the file metadata is applied

What does Asset do if the file metadata contains a positive Replay Gain gain value and a peak value that would cause the transcoded file to have clipping if the positive gain value is applied as it is?
Does Asset respect the peak values and lowers the applied gain if the track would otherwise have clipping?
If not, does it use some other method of limiting than just letting the file to have clipping even though if peaks would be over 0 dBFS in floating point?

No realtime player can do this without preprocessing the whole file which is not practical. When calculating Replaygain, be sure to use a program (such as dBpoweramp) which is able to stop clipping in the gain calculation.

I didn't mean realtime gain lowering but setting the gain (before starting transcoding / at the beginning of it) so that the track won't have clipping. At least foobar2000 can do that (and I think others too, e.g. VLC, Kodi).

You are better fixing each replaygain value, rather than setting an independent gain value for each track.
