R17 for Mac - Disc present in AccurateRip database not showing

    Hi all,

I couldn't see this being reported (as a possible bug) but when I load a disc it os now telling me before ripping strats whether it is present in the database. Only after the first track has ripped will I know whether this is the case.

I have in the meantime downgraded to 16.8. Is it "safe" to simply drag app in to apps folder and replace the R17 one? I do not have to replace any app support files or anything?

    Many thanks

You would be best to remove the existing, before installing the other version.

Thanks Spoon. Does that hold true for upgrades as well? Through the years I have simply dropped the app into the Applications folder replacing the previous version. I think this is different from the Windows world.

Otherwise I would lose all my settings etc?

      Please let me know.

      Many thanks.

Apple now ask you what you want to do, such as replace existing, or create a 2nd install.

Yes that's right. So if I choose to replace the R17 app version with the 16.8 that should be fine - no need to uninstall R17 first?

Problem being investigated, thanks for reporting.
In meanwhile, you can safely have R16 and R17 (and also older versions) on the same mac, or replace one with another. Running from the DMG image without installing is also OK, just keep in mind that all instances will share their configuration data.
Copying app bundle to the Applications folder replaces any existing bundle, so no need to remove anything prior to installing another one.

Many thanks Peter. Do you have a timeframe for the release version of 17.1?

                    Many thanks

It will probably be under 4 weeks
