m4a QAAC Encoder (iTunes) not working.

When I try to convert a 4 min. wav file, all I get is an error:

Error converting to m4a QAAC (iTunes), 'C:\Users\Allan\Desktop\18-1-2020.wav' to 'C:\Users\Allan\Desktop\18-1-2020.m4a'
Error writing audio data to StdIn Pipe [clEncoder::EncodeBlock]

    iTunes version:
    12.10.4.2 (latest)

    Using tVBR, Quality 63

7 GB space left on my drive.

The wave file is 16 bit, 2 channel, 44KHZ?

I am not sure how you can debug this issue, perhaps disable security software?

I created a fresh Windows 10 machine, added iTunes latest, installed dbp + qaac and it encoded correctly.

Sorry to bring back a dying thread, but...

I'm getting the same error as cinnabardk when trying to convert from FLAC to QAAC. I tried each of the 4 presets to no success. Below is a snippet of the error log from trying to convert the whole album.

          Code:
Error converting to m4a QAAC (iTunes), 'C:\Users\ruscra\Music\Nujabes\Spiritual State\01 Nujabes feat. Uyama Hiroto - Spiritual State.flac' to 'C:\Users\ruscra\Desktop\01 Nujabes feat. Uyama Hiroto - Spiritual State.m4a'
Here are the audio properties of this file

          Code:
          Artist Nujabes feat. Uyama Hiroto
          Title Spiritual State
          Album Spiritual State
          Track 1/14
          Disc 1/1
          Genre
          Year 2011-12-03
          Rating
          Composer
          Size 39.62 MB (40% Compressed)
          Original Size 65.93 MB
          Length 6 minutes 31 seconds
          Channels 2 (stereo)
          Sample Rate 44.1 KHz;
          Sample Size 16 bit
          Bit Rate 1,411 kbps
          Encoder
          Encoder Settings
          Audio Quality Perfect (Lossless)
Contains Album Art, CRC, ID Tag [Vorbis Comments]
          Channel Mapping
File 01 Nujabes feat. Uyama Hiroto - Spiritual State
          Type FLAC Audio [.flac]

          I am running
          • Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, build 18363
          • dBpoweramp R16.6 64-bit
          • iTunes 12.10.4.2.

The only security software I have running is 10's built-in antivirus. I disabled real-time protection and tried to convert the above file again -- no success. Test conversion worked without a hitch. I was also able to convert to MP3 VBR -v2 with no problems either.

Not sure what to suggest, this plug-in was developed by a 3rd party so we are not involved in that. You would have to test other QAAC scripts (perhaps try a command line version and a wave file) to see if that works.

Ran into the same problem, but was able to figure it out. So for anyone else who runs into it, the key is to not install iTunes via the Windows store which is the default if you go to Apple's download page. Instead, you have to install iTunes using the "Looking for Other Versions" link midway in the page, choose "Windows" and get the full download that way.

Oh yes, iTunes through the app store will be sandboxed, nothing will communicate with it outside of its own environment?
