Thread: Problems with Ripping from External CD/DVD drive

Problems with Ripping from External CD/DVD drive

I have had an LG External CD/DVD-R SATA drive mounted in an external USB enclosure for about a year now. Previously I have never had too many ripping CDs using this drive, but lately it is giving me problems. I now get loads of errors on discs that are in mint condition when I try to rip them. I'm wondering if this is a problem with my secure settings like C2 or whatever, or if the drive is starting to wear out and I need to replace it. What's the best way to figure this out? I can post a screenshot of my secure settings later, if necessary.

    Thanks.

It is likely the drive is worn out (as a test uncheck C2 pointers if checked).
