Not Decompressing FLAC

Why doesn't FLAC uncompressed work with this album (and several others in my library)? It also causes dup tracks 9 and 11 when using overwrite.

The files are 24 bit, uncompressed is not uncompressed for 24 bit.

You are saying PerfectTunes De-Dup identifies track 9 and 11 as the same, or when converting the end filenames are the same and overwriting?

if using [origfilename] then the filenames are quite long, if saving it could be reducing the number of characters to 255 total (including path), and track 9 and 11 start the same name for about 40 characters.

I'd like to follow up on this. I'm was able to decompress many, if not most, of my 24-bit flacs. Absent that, I often notice a small skip at start of playback (Roon) presumably because of the library decompress operation. Any thoughts?

FLAC is lossless, any skip is a bug in the decoder, in this case roon.

Sorry I didn't make this clear. Disregard the bit about skipping and Roon. You say uncompressed is not for 24-bit, but I've uncompressed a number of my 24-bit files. Please explain.

Some do, some do not, I have not examined the code in flac to find why.

Hi Spoon,

If I have FLACs that could compress further to save space, using the default Level 5 of the converter, is there any downside to running everything through it? Will the Converter take whatever level the file is currently at and redo it to level 5? Could I screw any FLACs up by doing this?
