AIFF to FLAC conversion does not include all metadata

    Hello,

I'm converting an AIFF to FLAC. Most of the metadata gets correctly transferred, but certain pieces are not.

    Missing metadata:
    • Grouping
    • BPM
    • Remixer
    • Release Time
    • Official Audio File Webpage
    • Publishers' Official Webpage

    Things that are correctly copied:
    • Title
    • Artist
    • Album
    • Year
    • Track
    • Album Art

Any idea what may be causing this and what can be done? I did some Googling and I don't think there are any DSP processors that can address this.

    Thanks,
    Lucas

right click on the original aiff file >> Edit ID Tags, are all the tags listed by dBpoweramp?

do the same no the FLAC file.

Thanks for that -- getting closer. I was using Yate to view the tags which is giving a slightly different result.

Within dBpoweramp, it's showing identical tags.
Within Yate, I found the missing tags defined under the "User Defined Tags" section.

Any idea why this is? I wonder if readers will have issue if tags get moved to the User Defined Tags section?

You would have to ask Yate, the tags are written with a simple element name, so 'BPM' will be stored as 'BPM'. It sounds like yate only expects certain tags in FLAC and all others are 'user defined'
