Error Recovery with Hardware - not with Software

We use a Nimbie for Batch-Ripping CDs for our clients.
And we have 4 DVD drives for manual ripping with the CD Ripper.
These drives are intended for reworking scratched CDs after polishing - or without meta-data.

We use the same DVD drives as in the Nimbie (TEAC).
But it is clear that the Nimbie reads the CDs much much better.
The Nimbie reads CDs without errors, where the other drives fail.
When a pretty broken CD has 3 inaccurate tracks - the Nimbie reads them all accurate.

The distribution says, we must turn off the software-side error correction in CD-Ripper. So that the error correction is used by the drive - and not by the software. But he does not know how.
The error-correction of this TEAC-drive is supposed to be better then the software-side.

Is there any way to disable the software - but enable the hardware error correction? I have tried a lot of settings, but I can not handle that.
    Thank you

Distribution are not correct, software on a PC cannot control the error correction of any CD drive, it can use things such as C2 pointers to detect errors, but not correct. The drive does this all internal.

    Thank you.
    I did not know that.
We speak of heavily maltreated CDs from customers:
What I can see is that the CD-Ripper needs 5 minutes for ripping a CD with at least 1 inaccurate track.
While the Nimbie device is taking 15 minutes of time and makes all tracks accurate.
I tried out the error-recovery options. Then the DVD drives ripp 2 hours and there are the same inaccurate tracks at the end.

    - Normal DVD drive: 20 CDs out of 100 are accurate 20%
    - Nimbie: 95 CDs out of 100 are accurate 95%

So I'm wondering if I have to do something special? Or is the Nimbie drive pure magic?
We have tested a lot of DVD drives and never achieve this power.

The goal is to configure the normal DVD drives with the same low error rate as the Nimbie.

Do all the TEAC drives have the same drive interface and the same firmware?

Thank you. The drivers are the same.
    Microsoft 21.6.2006 / 10.0.17.134.137
    TEAC DV-W5600S

The firmware is unknown to me. There is nowhere a page to update the firmware.
Primera DiscRoboter use TEAC DV-W5600 - but the firmware is not compatible to the 5600"S".
The W5600S has a customizable Firmware.

I got answer from Acronova Support:

To our knowledge, there is no firmware update available for TEAC drives.

For your reference, TEAC drives are designed specifically for autoloaders, which should be more durable than standard drives. However, every optical drive behaves differently, and may be compatible with different brands of discs.

I meant the drive (bus) interface (pata, sata, scsi etc.), not the drivers.

To confirm, the Nimbie has TEAC DV-W5600S drives and the 4 DVD drives used for manual ripping are also TEAC DV-W5600S drives?

Yes - they are really the same DVD drives: TEAC DV-W5600S
The 4 manual drives are external drives connected via SATA.
And the Nimbie is conected via USB 3.0.

Strange indeed. If all the drives are the same (with the same firmware) and the drives are configured identically in the software, I would at least expect a similar performance from all of them.
