    Exclamation issue with flac uncompressed

    Hi,

I've my music library converted to FLAC Uncompressed, and I have an issue using FFmpeg with at least one file.

With this file as FLAC Uncompressed, I get two flac errors:

    ffmpeg -loglevel repeat+level+verbose -ss 15 -i "02 - Sad But True.uncompressed.flac" out.flac 2> log.txt

    [flac @ 000001640a2b4a40] [error] blocksize 16384 > 4608
    [flac @ 000001640a2b4a40] [error] decode_frame() failed
[error] Error while decoding stream *0:0: Invalid data found when processing input

Where you have both files, and a flac uncompressed file that works fine:

I would like to know if this is an issue of dBpoweramp convertion to FLAC Uncompressed, with this specific file, or something else...?

    Thanks

    Re: issue with flac uncompressed

dBpoweramp uses the official FLAC libraries to convert, even uncompressed. FFMPEG wrote their own flac decoding code (they do not use the official flac libraries to decode), hence the possible incompatibility.

    Re: issue with flac uncompressed

You don't think that is necessary to analyze this file?

I will try to get some support from FFmpeg about this issue.

    Thanks

    Re: issue with flac uncompressed

If you can convert the file with dBpoweramp to Wave, then any program using the standard flac libraries (which is pretty much every audio program, except ffmpeg) will be able read the file.

    Re: issue with flac uncompressed

FFmpeg can read that file, but not when the seek option (-ss) is used.

If I can get some support from FFmpeg, I will let you know the result...

FFmpeg developer confirmed the issue: https://trac.ffmpeg.org/ticket/7684
