Question Create a new Genre tag

Is there a way tp define/create a new Genre tag in PerfectTunes? I have a bunch of Christmas albums and tracks and would like to classify them as "Christmas" genre.

Re: Create a new Genre tag

If you type a new Genre into the tag editor, it should be remembered for next time and will be in the selection.

Re: Create a new Genre tag

You can create whatever tag you want, however it is likely your player will not work with that new tag.

You are perhaps best to create 3 separate libraries, one for each person.

How can I create my own tag and can I name it in my mind? I tried it already but I failed.

Run PerfectTUNES ID Tagger >> select a file listed or multiple files (by selecting first file, then holding shift and clicking last file) >> right click on a file, then in the tag editor click '+ Add'

Type the name of the tag you want to add, click ok then set the value for the tag.

Re: Create a new Genre tag

thank you for your quick response.
I was already on the right way but I did not found where to set the value. With your help I got it.
But now I have therefore the following questions: Do I have to create the tag and set the value for every file/multiple files again? Because this tag appears nowhere else.
And is it not possible that this tag is seen in the columns? Because otherwise I always have to click onto a file >>> right click on the file, and then tag the editor click to see if the file has this tag and if applicable, which value is set.
    Thanks again for your help.
    Regards
    Peter

You would always have to follow the method shown above, the tag will not appear as a column as it is non standard.
