    PerfectTUNES for Mac, R2.3 beta

PerfectTUNES for Mac release 2.3 is ready for beta-testing.

    fs
    Changes since R2.2
    • Mac OS Mojave dark mode support
    • Lowest supported Mac OS version is now 10.10 'Yosemite'

    Changes in beta 2
    • Added DSD codec, can now edit tags of .dsf files
    • Dark mode visual fixes

    Changes in beta 3
    • Fixed visual glitches in various tables (regression from 2.2).
    • Fixed corrupted undo database after a "Clear Database Cache" command.
This won't fix undo data corrupted by previous versions, but you can specifically clear undo history from ID Tags / Previously Edited.
    • Enabled "Edit Tags in PerfectTUNES" from Finder.
    • Bug fix - if added ~/Music and ~/Music2, the last folder would not be indexed.
    • Album Art: Sort on resoluton now takes both width and height into account.
    • Fixed failure to delete/recycle files if a volume does not support recycling.
    • De-Dup: Added option to move files to a folder instead of deleting.
    • ID Tags & Album Art: Implemented option to preserve modification times when editing tags.
    • Updated window position remembering logic, now much less annoying with multiple displays.
    • De-Dup: Fixed failure to remember hidden (suppressed) duplicate groups in some cases.
    • Various other bug fixes.

    Changes in beta 4
    • Changed beta timeout to 2019-12.
    • Added beta update checks; when running a beta version, the launcher dialog will show you if there is a newer beta available.

    Changes in beta 5
    • Fixed a regression causing COMMENT tag to be written to ID3v2 TXXX rather than COMM.

    Changes in beta 6
    • Updated code signing, should now run correctly on Mac OS Catalina.

    Changes in beta 7
    • Fixed ID Tags / view by year misbehaving with iTunes-style date tags.

Re: PerfectTUNES for Mac, R2.3 beta

I have one issue to report and one observation.

I have two albums from the same artist where the the album name differs by just an (EP) appended on one album. The albums are in different folders and are different tracks/albums but the Album Art in PerfectTUNES combines the tracks and shows them as one album. I can zip up the two albums and send a dropbox link via private message.

The observation is that when scanning .dsf files it is incredibly compute intensive and slow. I know that is a new feature of beta 2 but will literally peg all 8 cores of my Mac during scanning of .dsf files.

    Thanks,
    Carlin Smith

Yes annotations such as (EP) are removed from Album names, as otherwise art would never be found online.

Note that beta 3 fixed a large number of known issues as well as brought the features up to date with the Windows counterpart.

Stable version will be out soon. Everyone is encouraged to test.

I think beta 7 may be a bad link or has been removed?
