Crash on CD eject since last update

    Hi,

Since I updated to the latest version 16.5 64 bit, CD Ripper crash each time I eject a CD (using the software or the drive button).

    The drive is a BDR-211M.

I do not get this behavior with other software.

Here is the event viewer log entry:

Faulting application name: CDGrab.exe, version: 16.5.0.3, time stamp: 0x5b8fa984
Faulting module name: CDGrab.exe, version: 16.5.0.3, time stamp: 0x5b8fa984
    Exception code: 0xc0000005
    Fault offset: 0x00000000000abbfb
    Faulting process id: 0x237c
    Faulting application start time: 0x01d4545e046a494a
    Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\dBpoweramp\CDGrab.exe
    Faulting module path: C:\Program Files\dBpoweramp\CDGrab.exe
    Report Id: aa5fb3b6-dc4f-4675-9292-62bcd499d175
    Faulting package full name:

Aside from having to restart CR Ripper each time I eject a disk, everything is working fine.

Any idea what might be the problem?

We have not updated the eject code in around 8 years or more, what security software do you have?

I'm using Kaspersky Internet Security 19.0 on Windows 10.

Well, it did not crash today.

I just updated AnyDVD HD and no more crashes (so far). I suspect this app was causing CD Ripper to crash. I also tried not to run both app at the same time.

Guess I was to quick to call it solved. It did die on me again. It is kind of erratic. But the application is usable. I just need to restart it when it happens. Luckily, it is not happening all the time.

I am having the same issue. The issue did not occur with the previous version, R15. However, I had also replaced the DVD drive with a Blu-ray drive since the last time I purchased it. I will uninstall the trial version, R16.6, and re-install R15 and see if the ejection issue persists. It also occurs if I click "OK and Eject" at the post rip report.

I re-installed R15 and I've had no issues with program crashing when ejecting and I've ripped 12+ CD.

I am having the same issue, where the software closes when ejecting the CD.

I am using CD Ripper 16.6, and use Kaspersky for antivirus.

This happens ever now and then, But this last week since working from home I have been able to do a lot of ripping.
so yesterday it happened 4 to 5 times.

On a side note the software is great, been using it for years.
I have over 4000 CD's and have ripped about half of them.
Also use the batch converter for music
    Thanks for a great program

Please install R17 from the testing section of this forum and see if a crash dump can be created.

    Good news
    I installed R17 beta.
I ripped 11 cd's today with no crashing when ejecting the CD. Also the program seems to work better while clicking in the fields to edit track info, ver 16 would start playing the track a lot of times even without double clicking the field.

As soon as R17 is fulling out I'll buy it also, seems this is not a free update since it will run until August
    Thanks
    Al

I don't run any third party security software as I run a number of specialty software applications in which it often conflicts with. I do have Microsoft's Security Essentials running, but I've never had an issue with it.

No, I do not have anydvd installed. I utilize a combination of MakeMKV and Handbrake for adding DVDs and Blu-Rays to our library.

I'll try R17 and report back.

I installed R17 beta and ripped 4 CDs. Eject functioned normally on each instance. I do not have any additional CDs to rip in the foreseeable future, so I will not be able to provide any further testing in the immediate future.
