    What Harddrives do you use - how do you store your ripped music?

    So, I have 2000 original CDs to rip and just wondering;
    What type of hard drive do you use ie Western Digital green, red, black?
    What format do you rip to and why?
    Do you have a remote setup, NAS anything like that?
    Is you setup linked to multiple devices?

    various harddrives. WD of various flavors, and other things. Lots of backups, stored in different locations. I rip to FLAC. Lossless, widely used, has built in CRC checker to batch check later on for any after-the-fact corruption. I have family pack, so can run dbpa on multiple machines. I don't use a NAS, but many people do.

    two wd usb hdds here for ripping to flac. backup from the commandline from one disk to the other with rsync. 1500CDs will fit.

    rsync -av --delete --exclude='._*' /Volumes/500gb/media/ /Volumes/500gb_clone/media
