Thread: <No CD Drive> after 1,000+ CDs

    <No CD Drive> after 1,000+ CDs

    Hi folks,

Firstly, I was engrossed with CD Ripper, and a message (something like "Congratulations, 1000 CDs ripped, press enter
to go blah blah blah". So I waited a while, and the message said some like "Don't press this, I'm working!". Fine, I thought,
and waited. I resumed ripping the CDs

Then CD Ripper stopped, and then started (say a second) . This widened to to several minutes and then it stopped
for half an hour. Now it stops working at all.

I get <No CD drive...> and the icon [with the CD drive] is gray.

We will never see your screenshot, because you tried to link a local file, which can't be accessed via internet.

BTT: I guess your CD drive died. Can you still play Audio CDs?

Yes, I had trouble with the paperclip icon, but if you note I said "I get <No CD drive...> and the icon [with the CD drive] is gray. ",
which is the point. No, the CD drive is fine - apart from the CD Ripper!

Try a full restart of the computer (full shut down).

    Hi Dat Ei,

On the laptop I tried, but I don't think DVD/CD is alive. On my desktop I checked that the DVD/CD is alright, so I think you're right in
    your assumption. Oh well.

On your desktop shut down. Unplug dvd/cd drive then restart computer. Shut down your computer then reconnect your dvd/cd drive and restart.

    See if that helps.

I tried it, but no dice. Pity, worth a try.

You're sure that on the CD ripping page, lower left-hand side of screen, you've selected the correct drive in the dropdown menu?
