My experience, I hope helps other users.
I installed Asset trial version on my Windows 10 v1709 Intel PC and I was very happy with the result, it did exactly what I wanted. My Home Theatre Yamaha amp found all the music immediately, so I went ahead and purchased a copy.
I uninstalled the trial and installed the "reg" version, to my surprise it immediately (within two mins) uninstalled itself and even the download file disappeared. After a mail from Mr Spoon I investigated further and found the my Bitdefender 2018 Total Security software had placed Asset in quarantine as a virus. After adding the relevant files to the whitelist all is well but it was not an obvious answer so maybe this will be useful information.
