    Secure Rip Or Not?

Do I need to rip in Secure Rip Mode, or will dBpoweramp work just fine in regular mode? Will regular mode work with Accurate Rip? I have been using CD Ripper in Secure Rip Mode since I purchased dBpoweramp. Just wondering if I am doing it right.

    Thanks

    Hi,

You don't need to rip in Secure mode, but it is a very good idea, to do so.

A rip of a CD that doesn't need frames re-reading, takes no longer in Secure mode than it does Burst, both giving an AccurateRip, but if there are errors, Secure (or Ultra Secure) mode will re-read those frames and still attempt to achieve an AccurateRip. Burst mode is quicker here, as it doesn't do multi re-reads, BUT, you will have errors, which may, or may not be audible.

If a CD is not in the database, then a Secure rip achieved by a second, or more rips, is added security, that your first pass in Burst mode didn't contain errors.

I recommend you continue to use a Secure rip.
