Trying to run as service in Windows server 2012 R2

    Hi all,

I installed the Windows 7 version of Asset UPNP R6 on my Windows Server 2012. I can't find an option to run it as a service, where can I find it? AssetConfig does not show it. Please help.

You should run the configuration program by the icon the installer creates, not the .exe direct.

There wasn't an icon created. Should I use a different installer? Can you point me to it?

What is the correct installer for Windows Server 2012 R2? Should it be run from within WS2012R2 or from a remote connection? If that makes a difference.

The Windows 7,8 or 10 installer. You would Remote connect to the computer then run the install in the remote connection.

I have a Remote Desktop Connection to my WS2012R2 on my Windows 7 laptop because there isn't a connector for WS2012, like there is for WS2011. Is this the correct way? Or am I wrong and is there a connector that needs to be installed to connect to WS2012R2?

In this Remote Desktop Connection I can run the installer but how is that different compared to running it directly on the server?

I will try the Windows 8 or 10 installer then and see how it goes.

Ok, I found it ! Working now. Back to running as local account now. When running as service my audio player doesn't see Asset, may firewall issue?

                Yes most likely.
