Alac

I know most people like to say alac and flac is identical but to me alac sound flat compare to flac any idea why that is?

As long as the playback system is identical, then the files will sound identical.

If you are hearing a difference, then something is different on playback, likely to be volume levels or eq/dsp being applied to one format and not the other.
