Batch Converter Programmable action to enclose selection

When I engage a bracketing Programmable Action like Replace String on a selected subexpression

[origpath]\[origfilename]

I get

[REPLACE]search,replacement,string[][origpath]\[origfilename]

Not useful!

Please can we instead have:

[REPLACE]search,replacement,[origpath][]\[origfilename]
