Is there a way to extract the Metadata to say an excel file? I know you can copy and paste but I was hoping for a importable file so we can keep a database of our music and its relevant data.
thanks,

You can use MP3Tag to export metadata to a txt file and import this into Excel.
Install the 'Audio Info' utility codec, open batch converter >> choose root folder >> click convert >> choose encoder as [Audio Info]. Choose the 'Tab separated table option' then click Convert.
Your whole library will have metadata exported into excel.

so... where do i find this awesome and mythical "audio Info codec?" we have a library of over 15,000 CDs and we are in process of digitizing them.. so a data base search with lots of metadata will be invaluable.
thanks... my guys love the program.

Click Codec Central link on the toolbar above, then down near the bottom of the page.

sorry found it... thanks for the heads up though this may be just what I was looking for
Hi,
I discovered that in the extract file the semicolon is missing in multiple value tags. Assuming this can be fixed somehow - is there a way to write back the edited tags into the *.flac-file?
How are multi artist values shown for you?
There is no way of importing the list back to the tags.
