    Trouble converting AC3 to AAC

    Hello,
I'm trying to convert an AC3 6 channel to AAC 6 channel.
Im getting error - DirectShow for ac3 not installed or file corrupt.
    I installed:
    dBpoweramp-Codec-DirectShow.exe
    ac3filter_2_6_0b.exe
    ac3file_0_6b.exe
    as suggested here - https://www.dbpoweramp.com/codec-central-ac3.htm
Is my audio file really corrupt? Is there a way to make it work?
    Thank you!

You should be able to play the file in Windows Media Player if all installed correctly. You can?

I do not have win media player installed.
I can play the ac3 fine in winamp or mpc-hc.
Not sure how that relates to the installation. Maybe I didnt understand the question.

The ac3 component is a directshow, that is a system wide component which is used also by Windows Media Player, the other players will not use this.
