Setting volume of Mp3 using Volume Normalize

While encoding a mp3 file, I am trying to set the volume with the command below

    CoreConverter.exe -infile="C:\Temp\Input_001.mp3" -outfile="C:\Temp\Out1.mp3" -dspeffect3="Volume Normalize="-mode={qt}10{qt} -maxamp={qt}100{qt} -desiredb={qt}-.1{qt}" -convert_to="mp3 (Lame)" -V 6

How do I use Volume Normalize so that the file will play with a default volume?

You would need -dspeffect1= not 3

Re: Setting volume of Mp3 using Volume Normalize

I tried with dspeffect1 and still could not set the volume. Essentially I want to be able to control how loud the audio clip plays. I tried the following

      CoreConverter.exe -infile="C:\Temp\9780147519658_001.mp3" -outfile="C:\Temp\Out1.mp3" -dspeffect1="Volume Normalize="-mode={qt}10{qt} -maxamp={qt}100{qt} -desiredb={qt}-.1{qt}" -convert_to="mp3 (Lame)" -V 6

Can you correct this query? Thanks

If you convert with the gui, it works as you require? (right click >> convert to)

Run the program Music Converter from the start menu.

I was able to open the GUI and in Volume Normalize--->Desired Volume, of I set the db to a specific value, then I am able to control the loudness--which is what I need.

If you can tell me how to do it from command prompt, that would be great. Thanks for your help.

Once working in the gui, then extract the values:

Certain Codecs (WMA, and compressed Wave) are difficult to setup as the settings are not guessable. Using CD Ripper it is possible to set the compression settings and read them back from the registry. Open CD Ripper, set the profile to default, set the encoder and settings as desired. Close CD Ripper then open regedit:
