    16.1.0.3 Hang on Convert

    Disappointed to find this hang:

How can I prevent Convert hanging on a file it doesn't like?

    PS FWIW Cancel never completes:

As a test convert to a different format, if using security software disable, if converting over a network, bring the files to the local hdd.

Hang occurs without Anti-Virus and from+to a local HD.

It seems the wma encoder is not functioning on your system, are able to try different systems?

I think you're confusing two separate issues. Perhaps because someone (not me) has merged my reports of two separate causes of hang into the same topic.

The wma encoder is functioning on this system. Convert to WMA works in most cases.

This report "16.1.0.3 Hang on Convert to source file" is of an issue specific upon conversion TO THE SOURCE FILE.

The source file is not being overwritten whilst encoding, it encodes to .tmp.wma, I have just tested and it works fine overwriting the existing.

You can try a different computer?

Can't see why I;d want to do that. As the screen shot shows "the wma encoder is not functioning on your system" is untrue. It is functioning. And surely the failure of dbPa to cancel cannot be due to the WMA encoder.

    Here's another instance:

    This file is here https://www.dropbox.com/s/iec3oq1zvp...20001.wav?dl=0

Anyone else able to get Convert to WMA to complete? And not hang?

This fail persists on convert to WMA

but does not show on convert to MP3 http://i.imgur.com/ggF4MN9.png

No AV software is enabled. Files are to and from HD.
