Windows 7 registered Asset 5.2 and 6 BETA do not start scan

Hi, I've just gone back to look again at Windows Asset, and my 5.2 and 6 BETA versions install, but status is stuck on 0 Tracks, 0 Albums. Re-booted and re-installed to no avail. Running mode is local account.

    Any ideas?

After some time and I'm not sure what combination of steps, Asset decided to do a scan. However, on making configuration changes, on accepting the prompt to re-start Asset, it crashed (had to abort via Windows Task Manager), and now when I go back in to Asset Configuration the status is Not Running, and I cannot re-start (this is 5.2). It feels very fragile, almost any action on the Configuration windows causes Asset to freeze with the "Not Responding" message.

What exactly crashed? Assetupnp.exe? or the configuration program?

What security software do you have?

I presume the configuration program crashed. I use the Microsoft security software.

    Try switching to service account.

I've had no joy with 5.2 on Windows 7. I did a full uninstall, ran the clean-up utility to remove registry entries, started again, and the configuration program kept crashing as before. I installed 6 Beta and this time, after a flaky start, it seems to have settled down. Only had a short time with it though so early days.
