New to dbPoweramp; unable to rip a CD and need HELP!

I have decided to purchase dbPoweramp rather than labor through EAC on ripping my 250 CDs to FLAC. However, I can't get the ripping feature to work with my MS Surface Pro 3 and Samsung SE-218 CD player. I am powering the CD player via a USB y-adapter to direct power source as it wasn't working otherwise. What do I need to do to rectify the issue? The player will spin up to speed and give me the following errors regardless of CD:

Never mind, I'm a dumb ass; I didn't have the one end of the USB y adapter connected to the power supply so I was not able to put enough amps to the drive for dBPoweramp to rip a disc.
