    Multi discs, One folder

Is it possible to set my settings so I can name my songs 101-102-etc for disc 1, 201-202-etc for disc 2, 301-302-etc for disc 3 and so on... so all the songs from multi discs are in one folder in the right order and I don't have to duplicate booklets and pdf's?

If so, how and where do I set my settings?

    Thanks!

You have to edit your naming and use the disc number like in this example:

    Code:
    [IFVALUE]album artist,[tags]album artist, - [],[IFCOMP]Compilations[][IF!COMP][artist][][]\[album]\[IFMULTI][disc]-[][track] [title]

    That is my chosen naming:

    [album artist]\[year] - [album]\[track] [title]

Where and what would I add to always get 101-102-103 and so on?

    Thanks!

You will have to insert the tag [disc] in front of the tag [track] in the naming scheme.

use this, assuming you have set the track numbers to always have two digits (i.e., 01, 02, etc.)
    [album artist]\[year] - [album]\[disc][track] [title]

The above will even make your single disks report 101, 102, 103. If you want the disk number for ONLY multi disks, you'll need a string that uses [IFMULTI]

First, thanks a lot to you both for the replies.

I had to google what a string was and what I understood is that it is the data written as the code scheme... right?

    Here's what I did:

    1-

    [album artist]\[year] - [album]\[IFMULTI]string[][disc][track][title]

The written result in my folder is: string101Holiday

    2-

    [album artist]\[year] - [album]\[IFMULTI]disc[][track][title]

    The written result is: [IFMULTI]101Holiday

How do I wrote it so the written result is: 101Holiday

    ?

Am I suppose to leave the actual "string" there as written/added by dbpoweramp in example *1 or change it to some actual data?

Am I clear here, do I make sense or do I write* as confusing as I am in my head?

    Thanks again!

    * English is not my first language sorry...

the [IFMULTI] is only part of the naming string formula. I assumed you knew how to enter the rest. I'll post a complete example for you in a few minutes.

copy this naming string into the "set" location (lower left side of CD ripper screen). See my picture.
    [IFMULTI][album artist]\[year] - [album]\[disc][track] [title][][IF!MULTI][album artist]\[year] - [album]\[track] [title][]

BE SURE TO HIT 'OK' AFTER PASTING IN THE NEW NAMING STRING.

    IT WORKS!

    IT WORKS!!!!

    YEAHHHHHHH!!!!

You have to admit though, its a tad more complicated than just adding [IFMULTI] before track number... I would never EVER get to that correct naming scheme by myself...

Is there a dbpoweramp-coding-scheme-string-101-for-dummies or something somewhere? That would be very helpful.

Thank you very VERY much Monsieur garym. Very kind and generous of you!

you're welcome. See attached pic below. click on the "?" in the upper right hand corner of the popup box where you put the naming string. Then you'll see lots of user help. These "?" are in lots of places in dbpa, but I think many people never bother to click on it for help info. I'm the type that clicks on everything to see what it does!
