...The Wrong Artwork Displayed on Samsung Galaxy S6
Hi
i'm not too technical - so i apologize if this is a simple/obvious mistake.
i have a blues box set with 3 CDs.
i have ripped each of the CDs to MP3 format using dbpoweramp and they reside on my pc
note - i did have to change the displayed artwork for disk 2 - before i ripped it - but that was easily resolved.
after successfully ripping the disks - i copied all files from the 3 disks to my Samsung Galaxy 6s
here's where i have my problem.
disks 1 and 3 display the correct artwork - all the MP3 files are fine
But Disk 2 displays the incorrect artwork (MP3 files are fine) - the same artwork that appeared before i ripped the CD is displayed on my S6
here's where it's even more confusing - when i play the MP3 files from disk 2 on my computer (using the files located on the S6) - windows media player displays the correct artwork. When i play the files from the pc - Windows Media displays the correct artwork
when i dragged the files from my pc to the S6 - i could see the image of the correct artwork.
i have deleted and retried the process several times - but still - the wrong artwork is displayed.
any thoughts?
many thanks - Ethan

Re: ...The Wrong Artwork Displayed on Samsung Galaxy S6
Depends how you add the new artwork, it is likely adding a 2nd art, so click the [-] to remove art before adding new in CD Ripper.

Re: ...The Wrong Artwork Displayed on Samsung Galaxy S6
thank you for your suggestion - it still didn't work.
i put the CD in the drive
opened dbpoweramp CD Ripper
it recognized the CD -
displayed information that the CD had already been ripped
displayed the correct artwork
i deleted the artwork
selected internet search
found the correct artwork
ripped the CD to a different destination folder
checked the artwork
it was correct
removed the existing files from my s6
copied the new files to the s6
the sd6 displays the wrong artwork
any thoughts?
thank you so much

Re: ...The Wrong Artwork Displayed on Samsung Galaxy S6
Did you try to copy the files back from the S6 to your PC? Do you see the original album art?

Re: ...The Wrong Artwork Displayed on Samsung Galaxy S6
i tried your suggestion
copied files from S6 to a new folder on my PC hard drive
opened the files using Windows Media Player
WMP displays correct artwork
then - using windows explored - checked the artwork using Edit ID tag
Edit ID tag - shows the correct artwork
i am so stumped
any thoughts?
thanks so much

Re: ...The Wrong Artwork Displayed on Samsung Galaxy S6
What kind of album art do you see on your S6? A generic graphics? Is your app capabale to read and display the album art at all?

Re: ...The Wrong Artwork Displayed on Samsung Galaxy S6
The CD is The Definitive Chicago Blues
the album artwork displayed on the S6 - Diana Ross and the Supremes - The Ultimate Collectioin
I am using the Google MP3 player on the S6 - it is capable of displaying the artwork

Re: ...The Wrong Artwork Displayed on Samsung Galaxy S6
Perhaps your player is fetching its own artwork and displaying that instead, remove the album from player, then take 1 file, right click >> Edit ID Tags and delete the artwork, transfer it to player and see what it shows.

Re: ...The Wrong Artwork Displayed on Samsung Galaxy S6
That's what's going on
i deleted all the files from the s6
on the PC - i used Edit Tag ID to remove the artwork
i dragged the mp3 (sans artwork) to the s6 music folder
interestingly - as i was dragging the file - i could see the image of the correct artwork.
when i wen to the Google MP3 app on the s6 -
there it was - the wrong artwork
so you must be right - the app is adding the artwork
but how does that explain that during the dragging process - i saw the image of the correct artwork?
finally - is there a way to fix the artwork?
