Asset R4.5 on QNAP TS-509 Pro missing tracks

    Hi

I’ve installed Asset R4.5 onto my QNAP TS-509 Pro (Intel Celeron Processor version). My music library is stored on this NAS in /share/flaclib/ and /share/flaclibv/ I’ve added these locations to the Asset config and all is good. The majority is FLAC, however there is the occasional MP3 etc. The structure of the library is /share/flaclib/album artist/album for example:

    /flaclib/Adele/21, Disc 1
    /flaclib/Adele/Skyfall

The configuration of Asset is the default, with no file type exclusions.

The problem I have is that I’ve noticed that the Adele Skyfall track is not listed. I enabled the debug option and then downloaded the log file. After examining this file I can see that the adele/21,disc 1 folder is scanned however the Skyfall folder is not. In this folder (skyfall), is one single MP3 file.
I then noticed that the Thomas Newman/Skyfall directory was scanned (and this was before the above) and is listed. These files are all FLAC.

Does anyone know what could be causing this please?

    Many thanks

    Nigel

Try browsing as Advanced Search >> File and Folder browsing, it will show the known paths.

    Are you sure the /flaclib/

is the correct starting point for the library? because it is normally /MDO_DATA/ or similar.

      Hi Spoon

Firstly, thanks for quick response; its appreciated.

The locations defined in asset for the share are:

      /share/flaclib/
      /share/flaclibv/

These seem to be operating fine, and Asset sees the files etc.

I've check the Advanced Search >> File and Folder browsing, the results are:

      File&FolderBrowsing>flaclib>Adele

At this point the two directories are listed:

      21,Disc 1
      Skyfall

if you go into the first "21,Disc 1" the image a tracks are listed.
if you go into the second "Skyfall" its totally empty.

      Thanks for your help.

Could it be a permissions issue? in skyfall they are flac files?

          Hi Spoon

Its not a permissions problem as there is no security on the flac folder. I also have a premium version of Asset running on a windows PC, this see's all the files correctly and plays correctly.
          Regards

          Nigel

Thanks for the report, it is being looked into.

Please also try the latest Asset 4.6 beta on your QNAP, it contains multiple essential fixes. It will retain registration status of your current version if you install over.

There is one scenario where Linux & OSX versions of Asset disregard some file or folder without any diagnostic messages: when the name of a file/folder begins with a dot character [ wikipedia ]. Since this is a Unix convention, Windows version of Asset indexes such files just fine.

You did not mention using dots in your file or folder names, but I'm bringing this up to make sure this isn't the case.

It would be helpful if you could email relevant Asset library log file to peter@dbpoweramp.com for further analysis, and tell me complete exact paths ( full path + extension ) of files that Asset fails to index.
