Thread: Asset playlist and NAIM App

    Asset playlist and NAIM App

    Hello,
I have a NAIM ND5 XS & QNAP TS121 and want to use Asset as UPNP server.
It works fine with the exception of the playlists.
If I select Asset in the NAIM app and select playlists I get all playlists listed.
If I select one of these lists the NAIM app shows me the content of the playlist however if I select PLAY the music doesn't start and after some seconds I get a message like UPNP error.

I can play all these titles in the normal way: Album, Artist etc. without a problem.

Should not forget to mention that I encounter the same issue with the LMS and Minim Server just Twonky accept my M3Us but I want to use Asset as my favourite UPNP server.

Could anybody help me with this issue?

    Best Regards
    Bernhard

Did you create the playlists manually?

    I created them with mp3tag.
For test purposes I have used Media Monkey and the Windows Playlist creator software also.

This will not work because the programs create the playlist with the network share, and Asset only accesses the files locally.

Thank you for your answer Spoon.
Unfortunately I don't understand your answer since I am not the real specialist for these things.

Is there a workaround to create playlists which Asset accepts?

Can you post a snippet from one of your playlists, showing a couple of tracks with the full path, as created in MP3Tag?

... also, in Asset UPnP Configuration >> Advanced Settings
what do have listed in the Audio Library section?

Do you mean the menu in the attached picture?

In between I have found a playlist form which is running in the Naim App, see picture.
Unfortunateyl this playlist doesn't show the cover of the songs.

    ../

is not valid because it is relative to the application which created it, Asset runs from a different location, you would need the full music path starting /share/Mu...

In MP3Tag >> Options >> Playlist, un-tick the Entries relative to work directory option.

Try creating the playlist again and check if the full path is written to the playlist.

... if the Asset Library folders are local, this is working well. I just have not tested this for a network share, when the full path is either a UNC path or Mapped Drive path.
