Thread: Asset from the command line

    Asset from the command line

    I'm running AssetUPnP on ubuntu-mate 15.04.

Is it possible to tell Asset to rescan the library, or to scan and detect changes in the library, from the command line?

When I say 'command line' I'd actually like to do it from within a bash script.

If you kill the asset process, then click the rescan detecting changes, you will see a file is created in the configuration folder, if you recreate this file, it will rescan.

Thanks. Can you give a little more information? What is the file called, and where might the configuration folder be? I can't see either, but I could search for it if I knew the name(s).

The configuration files for Asset are stored: ~/.dBpoweramp

OK. So is it the "lock-db" file that you mean? There's also a "LibraryUpdateID" file and another "lock" file.

If I kill Asset then I can't click on the rescan button. Basically, the same files seem to exist whether Asset is running or not, and whether I've rescanned or not.

The file should be RescanRefresh.bin write 1 character to this file.
