Angry Bizarre problem with Nimbie USB Plus

I load a pile of CDs. They all go through to the exit bin (none rejected below the Nimbie), but only one out of two actually gets ripped (roughly one out of two)! Tried twice with different CDs, same result. Same happens whether I select "Reject CD if no Metadata" or not. This is my first Nimbie, newly received.

Using the last version of DBPoweramp Batch Ripper (Oct 2014).

This is the sort of Note I get:

I am on Windows 7, loaded the latest Nimbie driver found on the DBPoweramp site. Selected the "Nimbie" loading method in the Configuration. Using Apple Lossless. Ripping to the Hard disk (not to the network). Connected through USB 3.

Am I missing something? Any help much appreciated.
    Thanks!

Re: Bizarre problem with Nimbie USB Plus

This does not make any sense, the disc is ripped as the reports and AccurateRip verification, yet after each disc is

Disc 9: Reject 9: No CD After Load Reject 9: No CD After Load

This code can only be called if the disc is not ripped, and if it is called then a disc will be rejected. Also strange how it lists it twice. I have no clue what is happening here, it is as though the program is corrupted, as to get a disc to rip and reject is impossible in the code.

After this event of "reject" the Nimbie USB connection to the PC is kicked out several times. Sometimes the USB connection comes again, sometimes it is gone. I also uninstalled the corresponding USB drivers but without any success. And also changed the USB cable and used another USB port.

    What to do?
    Thanks.

The losing of USB is external to dBpoweramp, it is a hardware issue, perhaps it is the eject command which is causing the issue, try the normal CD Ripper and click the eject button to see what happens.

Re: Bizarre problem with Nimbie USB Plus

I canīt do that because the USB-Nimbie is no longer available in the system. It is kicked out completely. I have to shut down my whole PC. At the next turn on Nimbie is there again. This is really annoying. After about 30 CDs I am forced to do that.

This failure also comes up when "Same as last CD" although it isnīt the same CD. Is there maybe a driver issue with my Win 8.1 Pro?
Sometimes, but not always, when the CD is loaded (which will be rejected), the CD drive doesnīt start to spin.

I am having the same issue, in Win7, under the same configuration Nimbie Plus, CD batch ripper reads all track, accurateRip checks them as OK, then Reject-Ripping error.
Does anyone know the solution. Single rips work fine, on another drive.

Re: Bizarre problem with Nimbie USB Plus

What you're describing is one of the (many) issues I have seen during the past couple of weeks trying to get a brand new Nimbie USB Plus Blu-ray version to read my music CDs. The entire reason I bought dbPoweramp was to use the batch ripper with the Nimbie. There was one brief moment on day 3 of trying to get it to work where it successfully ripped about a dozen CDs. I still don't know why it worked briefly. But, after those 12 discs, it has rejected every disc since. As of this moment, I'm waiting on Amazon to contact the seller to get him to refund my money. His only answer to my original refund request was that he was leaving town for 4 days and that I should talk to Acronova about my problems. In my opinion, the Pioneer drive failed. I stopped using Pioneer drives years ago because they always gave me trouble. I would have swapped out the drive with one of my own, but Acronova puts a sticker over one of the screws saying the warranty is void if you remove the sticker. Grrrrrr. Anyway, the 4 days came and went. He should have contacted me a few days ago. I've heard nothing, so I filed a claim with Amazon. Normally, the entire reason you buy equipment from a dealer is to get better service than you would get buying direct. Didn't work out that way for me.

I really wanted the Nimbie to work, but the entire installation was a nightmare of hunting down obscure, and mostly conflicting, information on the web. I ordered both dbPoweramp Reference 16 and the Nimbie on the same day. As the software was a download, I immediately installed it and tried it out. When the Nimbie arrived a few days later, I followed the directions - installing the included Nimbie software and driver (in theory anyway.) When I tried to run dbPoweramp, it now said it was the version 12 trial version. Apparently, during my hasty click through on the install, an antique trial version of dbPoweramp was written over my fully registered 3 day old version. So, I tried to uninstall the trial version. It stalled out claiming there were missing files. Now, it wouldn't run at all. I downloaded and installed the current version again, installed it, rebooted, and it seemed to be fine again when I ran it. But it didn't see the Nimbie. Neither did Win10. I thought the driver had been installed when I ran their install disc. I looked in device manager and there was an exclamation point next to unknown device in the list. I clicked on update driver and pointed it to the correct spot on their install CD. Windows then told me I already had the best driver installed for that device!?! I popped on here and saw the driver dbP has for Nimbie. Grabbed it, went to try to update driver and it again told me I already had the best driver. So, I removed the device. Then, I tried adding the device back in so I could use the new driver. It continued telling me I had the best driver installed, even though I removed the device. At some point, it appeared I had successfully tricked it into installing the dbPA driver, so I looked for the drive in Windows. It showed up! It also showed up in dbPA. I immediately ripped about a dozen discs and it seemed to finally be working. I added more to the hopper and started it up again. It immediately started rejecting disc after disc and then the drive eventually disappeared from both dbPA and Windows again. That was a week ago and I haven't had a single successful rip since. Mostly, it just doesn't appear to be connected, but I got those "rip successful, but rejected" strange messages during some of my final attempts to get it working again. At this point, it seems like my desktop system is in an unstable state with occasional freezes for 3-5 seconds at a time from all of the half-installed and half-removed software and drivers. I boxed up the Nimbie and I'm waiting for an RMA number. I still keep looking at the box wishing it had worked as advertised. I just hope Amazon can get Media Supply to take this thing back and issue me a refund.

Anyway, does anyone know of a different inexpensive auto-loader which actually works? The thought of manually ripping well over 1k music CDs makes me cringe.

Inexpensive and new auto-loader? Nope. You got the least expensive one, and that's probably half the price of the closest.

Re: Bizarre problem with Nimbie USB Plus

Well, I've ripped several thousand CDs with my setup, six DVD burners of several makes connected to a fairly fast PC with three monitors, 3 via SATA 3 via USB2 with SATA-USB adapters, running up to 6 simultaneous instances of dBpoweramp. It usually takes me more time straightening out the metadata than the rip time, and also most of my ethnic CDs are not in Accuraterip, so the secure rips take about 15 minutes each. I've thought of an autoloader but the thought of sorting out the metadata after ripping is terrifying. I still find far too many overlooked or typo metadata errors after ripping as it is.

Now, I'll admit, I've been doing this spasmodically for over three years.
