    Sorting Multi-CD Albums

    I need a UPnP server for my FLAC library (~2TB). I've been evaluation Twonky and JRiver, and now I'm looking at Asset. Going by its description, it should be the server for me, but it doesn't seem like that in practice.

    For instance. The opera "Ariadne" by JG Conradi is saved in 1 folder, as individual tracks. Files are named "1 01 Overture.flac", "1 02 Grimmes Glueck.flac", "1 03 Wie so allein.flac", etc. The tags are:

    DISCNUMBER=1
    TRACKNUMBER=01
    TITLE=Overture
    COMPOSER=Johann Georg Conradi
    ALBUM=Ariadne
    ARTIST=Boston Early Music Festival Orchestra & Chorus
    DISCTOTAL=3
    ENCODER=xACT v1.56/FLAC v1.1.1
    DATE=2005
    GENRE=Classical

    DISCNUMBER=1
    TRACKNUMBER=02
    TITLE=Grimmes Glück (Ariadne)
    COMPOSER=Johann Georg Conradi
    ALBUM=Ariadne
    ARTIST=Boston Early Music Festival Orchestra & Chorus
    DISCTOTAL=3
    ENCODER=xACT v1.56/FLAC v1.1.1
    DATE=2005
    GENRE=Classical

    and so on.

    If I connect to Assett UPnP with a player, go to Composer > J > Johann Georg Conradi, I get

    [All Tracks]
    Ariadne, Disc 1
    Ariadne, Disc 2
    Ariadne, Disc 3

    If I go to [All Tracks], the tracks are sorted -- incredibly! -- alphabetically by title.

    If I go to Ariadne, Disc 1, it plays CD 1, and then stops. But the whole point of naming and tagging the tracks as they are is to play all 3 CDs without interruption.

    Is there any way of getting Asset UPnP to do the right thing?

    Thanks.

    Have

    Multi-Disc Albums show as '[Disc] [Track] [Title]' selected over

    Multi-Disc Albums show as 'Album, Disc x'

    This then lists all tracks from Disc 1, then all tracks from Disc 2, all tracks from Disc 3 etc., so you can play all tracks from multiple discs in order.

    Thanks for your reply, but it doesn't work. I still get

    [All Tracks]
    Ariadne, Disc 1
    Ariadne, Disc 2
    Ariadne, Disc 3

    With [All Tracks] sorted alphabetically (the mind boggles!) and separate folders for each disc. The only difference now is that Asset prepends the disc number (but not the track number) to the track title display.

    Your tracks must have Disc 1/3 2/3 and 3/3. You can browse with Advanced Search >> File and Folder browsing and browse to the folder, all the tracks in that folder will be displayed in filename order.

    Thanks for your reply. I'm sorry, I don't follow you.

    Yes, that does work.

    UPDATE: After doing a 'Refresh All' (I assume this re-builds the database from scratch), the album is now sorted correctly. (But the track number is still not prepended to the the track title; only the disc number is.)
