    This is a 2TB Western Digital My Passport 2.5" drive. It consumes 600mA on spin up and about 480mA in use. Is that likely to be OK?

    Possibly yes, I no longer have the datasheets on on this motherboard to check.

    Do you know what model the motherboard is? My RipNAS didn't come with a motherboard CD and the motherboard itself doesn't appear to have a model number on it. I may be able to track down documentation myself if I have the model number.
