    AccurateRip results query

I just ran PT1.6 for the first time and have a result on one album that looks contradictory at first glance.

I ripped a CD 09/2013 (v14.4), which ripped all 17 tracks accurately with a confidence of 3/13 for CRCv2/v1 (Results below)

    Track 15: Ripped LBA 240997 to 252991 (2:39) in 0:05. Filename: I:\Rips\Various Artists - 1998 - The Eighties Mix, Disc 2\15 - Reward - Teardrop Explodes, The - The Eighties Mix, Disc 2.flac
AccurateRip: Accurate (confidence 3) [Pass 1]
    CRC32: 97F0AA66 AccurateRip CRC: 4467992B (CRCv2) [DiscID: 017-00283fe4-01fbe375-000efa11-15]
    AccurateRip Verified Confidence 3 [CRCv2 4467992b]
    AccurateRip Verified Confidence 13 [CRCv1 c7f433fb]

    Track 16: Ripped LBA 252991 to 282739 (6:36) in 0:11. Filename: I:\Rips\Various Artists - 1998 - The Eighties Mix, Disc 2\16 - Take On Me - A-Ha - The Eighties Mix, Disc 2.flac
AccurateRip: Accurate (confidence 3) [Pass 1]
    CRC32: C0DFA9FA AccurateRip CRC: CB685D1E (CRCv2) [DiscID: 017-00283fe4-01fbe375-000efa11-16]
    AccurateRip Verified Confidence 3 [CRCv2 cb685d1e]
    AccurateRip Verified Confidence 14 [CRCv1 c4300f9c]

    Track 17: Ripped LBA 282739 to 287618 (1:05) in 0:02. Filename: I:\Rips\Various Artists - 1998 - The Eighties Mix, Disc 2\17 - Life In A Northern Town - Dream Academy, The - The Eighties Mix, Disc 2.flac
AccurateRip: Accurate (confidence 3) [Pass 1]
    CRC32: 6136E033 AccurateRip CRC: AAD670B5 (CRCv2) [DiscID: 017-00283fe4-01fbe375-000efa11-17]

Perfect Tunes has reported that the last 2 tracks are inaccurate, which would seem to contradict the results from CD Ripper (as shown below)

Various Artists - The Eighties Mix, Disc 2 [AccurateRip DiscIDs: 017-00283fe4-01fbe375-000efa11]
Track 15: AccurateRip Verified Confidence 5 [CRC 4467992B] I:\Rips\Various Artists - 1998 - The Eighties Mix, Disc 2\15 - Reward - Teardrop Explodes, The - The Eighties Mix, Disc 2.flac
    Track 16: Track InAccurate I:\Rips\Various Artists - 1998 - The Eighties Mix, Disc 2\16 - Take On Me - A-Ha - The Eighties Mix, Disc 2.flac
Track 17: Track InAccurate I:\Rips\Various Artists - 1998 - The Eighties Mix, Disc 2\17 - Life In A Northern Town - Dream Academy, The - The Eighties Mix, Disc 2.flac

As per Murphy's law I can't find the CD to try a rerip, so wondered if anyone could provide the correct interpretation of the results.

    thanks
    Nick

    Re: AccurateRip results query

If you have dBpoweramp installed convert those 2 tracks to the utility codec 'calculate audio CRC' for those 2 tracks it should be:

    Track 16: CRC32: C0DFA9FA
    Track 17: CRC32: 6136E033

      Thanks for the quick reply.

The results come back as BFB947DB for Track 16 and B13E7253 for Track 17.

Do I conclude that the original rip reported as accurate in error? If so, need to track down that cd!

The data came off the cd as Track 16: CRC32: C0DFA9FA, Track 17: CRC32: 6136E033 that is 100% certain, the fact that these flac files no longer have this CRC means something has altered the audio, or flac files.

          Re: AccurateRip results query

Just wanted to close this thread off by explaining what the root cause was.

The start of track 17 is written in error on the CD (only 1.05mins long), so after accurate rip I had used Sound Forge to join tracks 16 & 17 together and then split them using a more appropriate start point for Track 17.

I've added a note to the log file to remind me next time I run PT.

          regards
