    OPUS Codec Update

    Hi,

I was just wondering if there was going to be an update to the latest stable 1.1 version?

Is there going to be more options for OPUS? as in surround sound and the selection of frames or is the standard of 20 for music to be the normal set.

    Thanks for your time

          This is wonderful news

Will it also encapsulate in Ogg-container with the .opus filename extension to help facilitate clarification that the files are Opus, as recomended by The Internet Engineering Task Force, IETF: "The recommended filename extension for Ogg Opus files is '.opus'." ..?

We write a .opus file yes, it should be as you require (the codec is from the same guys who created Ogg Vorbis).

              Thanks for the answer.

Now that I read the Opus page at Codec-Central again, it states "Decodes .opus" and "Encodes .opus" at the very bottom. Must have missed that

Have been using other software that output in .ogg and it was a mess keeping Ogg Vorbis and Ogg Opus apart, especially when using same output folder that lead to things such as having to rename files due to "already exists" etc.

Will use the trial version some more, and it seems promissing so far and well worth a coming purchase.
