Great, just let me know, if there is something I can do to help troubleshoot.

        Re: Asset UPnP for QNAP

        Hi Spoon,
Thanks again for making Asset available for the QNAP TS-269. For me, it has proven to be far superior to the software bundled with QNAP.

When I access Asset for Windows on my desktop using Kinsky, the container for Internet radio (TuneIn Radio) is populated and the radio stations are accesable. If I access Asset on the QNAP, the Internet Radio (TuneIn Radio) container is present, but is empty. Is this by design, or is it an issue needing resolution, or does it represent incorrect setting on my part?

          Bye. Purzel

          btw. happy new year!
I installed the Raspberry pi version on a Synology DS214- and it works well.
          Good performance.
Had few issues with auto starting it a boot, but that works too now.
Only issues is that the Asset configuration files are at root in the file system.
I would prefer if I could select location.
I hope I have not violated anything by doing this!

The latest Pi update saves the configuration files in the install folder.

              I tried with:
              Export HOME=/volume1/Media/Music && /usr/bin/asset/bin/AssetUPnP &

Voila, it works. Now Assets conf files are on where I want them.

Great news that we now have the browse tree available!

I seem to be getting some strange results with regards to the way the tree is displayed on my control point. I'll try and work out exactly what's going on but one obvious thing is that my selections in the browse tree aren't saved. So I can check a number of options and apply but when I go back to the tree my selections have disappeared?

Any ideas, is it not saving the selections?

                    Hi,

Browse tree works fine on my control points Kinsky and Asset.
katywu, maybe you have mixed up the root and subfolder structure \genre and +\genre and +\+\genre for example ?

                    Spoon,
Tunein radio folder is populated in the control point, however it looks like the setting from the config page is not used.
While i have entered "Netherlands" in the config page, all available radiostations are shown, in very structure way that is
when selecting radiostations, my linn majik dsi switches to upnpav, but sadly no sound coming from the speakers.
tried different radio stations no succes.

                    Hope this helps.

                      Much better than the previous version works fairly good with my 40k+ track count, only complaints from me are;

                      Qnap 219P+
Uses 98% CPU constantly whilst streaming and 88% when idle, the previous version did not which appears to result in the odd pause half way through a track. ( happened twice in the last few minutes ) I can confirm it is not a network issue and I do not have any other processes apart from the standard Qnap stuff running.

CPU drops to 4% when disabling Asset via the control panel.

                      Thanks,
                      Keep it up spoon!

                        Thanks Michel

I have it set the way I want at the moment but if I go back into the browse tree non of my selections are still checked. It doesn't affect anything as long as I don't make any changes, if I want to make any change in the browse tree then I have to make sure I remember my previous selections.

Do you selections stay checked when you go out and come back into the browse tree?

                        Thanks

Is anything interacting with Asset (browsing all trees)? or is it doing a full rescan?

Assuming you are talking to me, nope rescan is complete and nothing browsing just idle, streaming to one device.

If you stop streaming what happens to cpu?

I've noticed it to be noticeably slower when browsing my library compared to when I used my Windows laptop running Asset pointing at my QNAP. My control point is saying "please wait" (or connecting) at each point I browse through the tree.

AssetUPnP uses about 60% of CPU when browsing and sometimes 85% but hardly any when streaming!

Spoon…BTW....I take it the "slimserver.pl" process is nothing to do with you, I don't know why that's running as I stopped playing with Squeezebox a long time ago and it's not enabled according to the QNAP GUI!
