    Not running??

    Hi

I have recently upgraded my PC to Win 8.1 from Win 7 on a new hard-drive.

However Status says "Not Running" even though I am pointing at my Music folder. Worked just fine before the move to Win8.1. Am running release 4.1 on Local Account

I have McAfee but I disabled firewall and virus scanning to no avial

    Any thoughts please?

Not sure what you mean by "start up type"- but Asset UpNP Configuration opens up and is set at Local Services

      Thank you

That's what I meant- it is set up as local account. I've also clicked restart asset But still says not running

Do you have any security software which might be stopping Asset from running?

I am using McAfee but I disabled it and still Asset doesn't run. Also it worked with McAfee on my old Win 7 PC.

BTW I also moved across all the files in the Asset folder on my old Win7 drive onto the Win8.1 drive. I wanted to ensure I moved across the database so that i didn't have to start from scratch on renaming, classifying, etc 9,000 songs.

              Thanks for your continued help

Try reinstalling Asset, as if you upgrade your Windows it will not be installed correctly.

Many thanks, That seems to have worked ....but...now if I go to Dynamics Browsing/Genre the songs etc are not collated under a single Genre. Eg there are hundreds of "Acoutsic" each with only one album in them.

                  Any thoughts?

You have 'Acoustic' listed 100 tines under Genre (for dynamic, how about when Genre is selected without dynamic)?

                      Hi

I changed the genre Acoustic to Chilled in Jaikoz, restarted Asset and all seems fine now. Many thanks for your help and all the best for the new year.
