Re: Asset UPnP for Raspberry pi

    ok, great.

Is the Advanced Configuration Settings window available on the Asset version for Raseberry Pi.

I like the look of the following, which are not provided out-of-the-box by Twonky. LMS had some of them.

    Artist & Album Handling modes
Artist Sort Handling and Display in Sort and Non-Sort Locations
    Combine Duplicate and Similar Artists
    Multi-Disc Albums handling
    UpStream Artwork
    A to Z Selection Grouping
    Hide Main View Albums

Plus I would like to try the forced transcoding to WAV for my Naim streamer.

So I'm off to get a Raseberry Pi as a dedicated UPnP server.

    Many thanks,
    Simon.

Re: Asset UPnP for Raspberry pi

Hi, I'm new to raspberry pi and Asset UPnP - I discovered both last week. I installed Asset UPnP and got it running just fine and I was very impressed. I had to set up my raspberry pi from scratch again yesterday (too much mucking about) and installed this new version of Asset UPnP. Now it won't scan my library properly. It scans the tracks, goes up to ~19,000 tracks (that's as many as I have I think), and then reports 0 Songs and 1 Album - the library is effectively empty. I set up my raspberry pi in an identical manner as last week, only this time I used this new version of Asset UPnP. Any ideas why this is happening? I'm desperate to get this up and running again as it looked very promising.

How are the files stored? locally on a USB or over a network share?

Re: Asset UPnP for Raspberry pi

I have just set up a new Raspberry Pi to have a play with Asset.

I am running Asset as user pi and can navigate to the web page ok. My music is mounted via cifs to /mnt/flac_files. I can see the folders containing the music ok using ls -l /mnt/flac_files.

In the configuration webpage I have put /mnt/flac_files in the watched media folders box. But from ChorusDS I'm not seeing any music appear. The Artist/Album, Album etc pages just contain empty containers.

When I check the Debug Logging Enabled box and restart Asset it becomes unchecked again. Should this stay on when checked and Asset is restarted?

I am hoping to see info in the log files to help me diagnose whether Asset is trying to scan the music folders but the logs are empty.

I assume I've done something wrong but I'm not quite sure what. Any ideas what I should check or modify?

I've run Asset UPnP for a few years on Windows and I'm really keen to get it going on the Pi.

            Thanks
            Graham

There is actually a bug to do with CIFS shares which will be fixed tomorrow.

Ah ok thanks. I got the impression some had got CIFS working, but I'll wait for the new build.

Re: Asset UPnP for Raspberry pi

                    Hello together,

I have installed the R14.2 Beta at my Pi. Asset runs fine, but I found 2 things:
                    - the debug flag is not saved, that means after a restart the flag is cleared
                    - the indexer does not found all files

I run MiniDLNA on the same Pi which finds all music files.
The music is stored on a external USB HDD with exFat.
Asset runs under the user pi on the latest raspbian wheezy.

                    Any suggestions?

                    Thank you in advance.
                    Stephan

I have done this now, and I have many lines like this in the lib log.

                        Read tags attempt from: /mnt/hdd/music/GUN/1994 - Swagger/06 - Something Worthwhile.mp3
Error cannot read track meta, file must be in use.

The MiniDLNA server is shut down, and in my opinion there is no other program accessing this file.
Any suggestions hot to investigate this problem?

Am I right that you have not increment the version number?

For beta we stick normally to the same version number.

Try restarting your Pi fully, then a full rescan.

I've downloaded the latest build, deleted ~pi/.dBpoweramp, rebooted the Pi, added /mnt/flac_files as the watch folder and I'm still not seeing any content in ChorusDS.

During media scanning are there any files I can check to watch progress or to see any errors?

The web configuration page will show the status of the scanning, it should show a file count whilst scanning.

If you enable the debug log it should show scanning issues.

I can't enable debug logging. I check the box, click Apply button, Asset restarts and the debug box is unchecked again.

Could this be a file permissions problem? I can set other options OK on the configuration page.

I don't see any scanning status info on the configuration page.

Should the source be unzipped and owned by root or pi?
