batch music converter crashing when attempting to convert large library
Win 8 64b
dBp 14.4 registered
I can use the batch converter fine on smaller conversions, but I am trying to convert my entire library (~8000+k flac albums). I hit the convert button in batch ripper, and the batch ripper sits there for a few seconds, and then disapears...

Re: batch music converter crashing when attempting to convert large library
Ok, its seems do to the size, it was just taking forever to get to the next step (status window would be nice [ie examining files])
However, at the next step, I get:
Converting 87,171 Files to CLI Encoder
Examining Source & Overwrite Check [+ ]
CPU1
CPU2
CPU3
CPU4
But instead of converting any files, after awhile, this window just goes away...

Re: batch music converter crashing when attempting to convert large library
You would need the 64 bit of dBpoweramp R15 (currently in beta) as it is using more than 4GB of memory.

Re: batch music converter crashing when attempting to convert large library
Beta section still says 64bit is still incompatible with DSPs. So that is no help...
Its over 2TB of music. Is dB trying to load the whole thing into memory?

Re: batch music converter crashing when attempting to convert large library
Is there a way to select multiple folders without having to select 1 at a time? So that I could select all As, then Bs, etc...?

Re: batch music converter crashing when attempting to convert large library
No it just loads the tags into memory. Later R15 will be more efficient at handling very large collections.
You cannot select multi folders in one go.

Re: batch music converter crashing when attempting to convert large library
Can you add a CTRL Shift functionality? I'm sure that could be done before waiting for r15 functionality.

Re: batch music converter crashing when attempting to convert large library
Not on the folder list, because it is not the right control for multi selection.

Re: batch music converter crashing when attempting to convert large library
Workaround:
- Right click on a random music file and select Convert To (I keep one on my desktop just for this purpose). This is just to get the converter window to appear.
- You may now drag and drop multiple files/folders onto the converter window. You can even drag them out of another program e.g. Mp3Tag
- You can then go to List/Rename and deselect the random file if you wish. It will be at the top of the list. I don't bother doing this.
I really hope R15 has the ability to right click on multiple folders and choose Convert To without going through the Batch Converter window. And that windows don't disappear for extended periods of time with no indication of what is happening!
