    Just a quick question

Is it that important to use DSP settings when converting Flac files from HDtracks (24,192 or 96) to 16/44.1 CD quality wavs? Or I can just use the the drop down menus to set the settings?

Drop-down menus are fine....they're just a short-cut to the same processing.

Thank you! What would you recommend as my channel setting - 2 channel CD or as source? And also wouldn't it be better to use the bit depth DSP function with triangular dithering for better results?

As source works fine, since we're already talking about a two-channel source.

I understand, but isn't it better for bit depth to use the DSP pluggin with dithering. You will have to excuse me :D, I'm not such a big expert on the whole thing, but i've read that when going from 24 to 16 dithering is necessary.

Try it both ways and see if you can tell a difference.....I can't, but if you find you can, or have a preference for any reason, just use the bit reduction setting you're comfortable with.

If ripping a CD there is no need to up the bitdepth, frequency or channels.

I think he's converting from higher-resolution tracks (HD FLAC to redbook wave).

Yes, right now I am converting HDtracks 24 bit 96 and 192 khz files to cd quality wavs. My question about the bit depth DSP plugin and more specifically the dithering was about these high resolution files. After ripping my cds I just convert my FLACS to standart wavs with the "as source" setting with no dithering.

If going 24 bit to 16 bit then yes use Triangular Dither.
