Exclamation How do I verify a ripped album(s)? [Step-by-step guide]

Ok, I heard that you can verify a previously ripped FLAC album with some software called CueTools.. What I need is a step-by-step guide of exactly how do I verify the album, probably using AccurateRup database or idk.. So yeah, that's what I need. Help please.

To verify previously ripped FLAC album, use PerfectTunes, from here:

    http://www.dbpoweramp.com/

    http://forum.dbpoweramp.com/showthre...8-PerfectTUNES

CueTools is a different (nonIllustrate program). A thread on it is here:

Re: How do I verify a ripped album(s)? [Step-by-step guide]

    1. install perfecttunes from above link
    2. go to Perfect tunes in program listing and execute ProgramTUNES Accuratereip
    3. it will initially start looking for you music in a certain music subdirectory. Pause it, then select the tool icon in upper right, then you can remove directories or add directories. If you just want to examine a single album, add just that directory. Otherwise you can point it at the top level of your music directory and it will start checking ALL your albums for accuraterip match.

Is that the best way/program/most reliable for verifying FLAC rips?

Ok, I tried to verify an album. Here's the result of Adele's '21':
    Code:

      Track 2: AccurateRip Verified Confidence 113, Pressing Offset +0 [ARv2 CRC 09C6DF36] D:\Adele - 21 Limited Edition Flac\02 - Rumour Has It.flac
      Track 3: AccurateRip Verified Confidence 112, Pressing Offset +0 [ARv2 CRC 81353C76] D:\Adele - 21 Limited Edition Flac\03 - Turning Tabels.flac
      Track 4: AccurateRip Verified Confidence 113, Pressing Offset +0 [ARv2 CRC 8EE5CF59] D:\Adele - 21 Limited Edition Flac\04 - Don't You Remember.flac
      Track 5: AccurateRip Verified Confidence 113, Pressing Offset +0 [ARv2 CRC 7BE0A7D8] D:\Adele - 21 Limited Edition Flac\05 - Set Fire To The Rain.flac
      Track 6: AccurateRip Verified Confidence 113, Pressing Offset +0 [ARv2 CRC DA41FB81] D:\Adele - 21 Limited Edition Flac\06 - He Won't Go.flac
      Track 7: AccurateRip Verified Confidence 112, Pressing Offset +0 [ARv2 CRC 1A3E111E] D:\Adele - 21 Limited Edition Flac\07 - Take It All.flac
      Track 8: AccurateRip Verified Confidence 111, Pressing Offset +0 [ARv2 CRC 655D8EA9] D:\Adele - 21 Limited Edition Flac\08 - I'll Be Waiting.flac
      Track 9: AccurateRip Verified Confidence 111, Pressing Offset +0 [ARv2 CRC 4D66062F] D:\Adele - 21 Limited Edition Flac\09 - One And Only.flac
      Track 10: AccurateRip Verified Confidence 111, Pressing Offset +0 [ARv2 CRC 242BF1C3] D:\Adele - 21 Limited Edition Flac\10 - Lovesong.flac
      Track 11: AccurateRip Verified Confidence 111, Pressing Offset +0 [ARv2 CRC 2E0B31F0] D:\Adele - 21 Limited Edition Flac\11 - Someone Like You.flac
      Track 12: AccurateRip Verified Confidence 112, Pressing Offset +0 [ARv2 CRC 6152FD2B] D:\Adele - 21 Limited Edition Flac\12 - If It Hadn't Been For Love.flac
      Track 13: AccurateRip Verified Confidence 111, Pressing Offset +0 [ARv2 CRC 0F584945] D:\Adele - 21 Limited Edition Flac\13 - Hiding My Heart.flac
Does all that say that it's a perfect rip and 100% identical to the CD quality? What's offset +0 and ARv2...

    >AccurateRip Verified Confidence 111

This means your rip matches 111 other rips, your rip is 100% identical to the CD.

Offset comes from either the CD drive or different batch of CDs (pressing runs), it does not affect the sound quality. ARv2 is the CRC method used to match.

So this is the most reliable/best way/program to verify if the rip has been properly ripped and identical to the CD quality?
And also, is there a way to verify just one file not a whole album?

yes, getting even "1" match to someone else's rip is excellent verification, and the best option available anywhere. No, you can't verify single tracks (yet), only albums as far as I know.,

Not sure who is developing the program but there should be an option for single-file verification.. Hopefully there will be in the future. Anyway, thanks for replying and helping. Always appreciated.

    P.S. What does that mean:

The .log for 'Parachutes' says: Read offset correction : 12
The .log that PerfectTunes delivers in the end of verifying says: Offset +0

    Why are those different?

There are 2 offsets a drive offset and pressing offset, if a drive is ripped with the 'correct' offset, it will appear as pressing offset 0 for non-pressing discs.

Do I lose any quality if I split a single-flac album into multiple tracks(files)? I have John Lennon's "Imagine" in a single FLAC file and someone told me to use CUETools->Encode->Tracks->FLAC->libFLAC->8->Go.. in order to do that. So, do I lose quality? It's still lossless after that right?

P.S. Btw, I'm having a 00. HTOA track/file now which is placed before Track 01. Is that bad or something?

no, one can spit a single flac with cue file into multiple tracks with no loss. still lossless. The one time I used cuetools, it also created a 00. HTOA track (which was not anything that played). Not sure why it did that, but didn't cause issues with other tracks created. Also, foobar2000 can convert a single flac/cue into separate flac tracks tool
