"unable to write ID Tags for" F:\...

I recently changed computer (from Vista to 7) and have now problems editing ID Tags. Have the message as the thread title suggests. I had no problems before editing ID tags.

Perhaps the computer only has read access to the files?

It depends on your system, f might be a network drive, or a drive which was in the old computer (and the access rights of the files, the ownership are still for the old computer).

OK, that makes sense... could I configure the external harddrive F: so I can change access rights to the new computer?

You would have to research this, we cannot advise if not actually 'there', as I would not want you to loose all your files...

Isn't there some setting in the software allowing editing permissions to the files? This should be a common problem, since all people change computers now and then.

It is not our software that has these settings, rather Windows Explorer and the security tab.
