    Settings Override (Control Point Specific)

    Hi,
    I would like to play HIRES Flacs also on my Sonos System (old problem ;-)). Now I can play files on my Sonos System directly from the Asset Server and it works well for LOWRES. At the Control Point Specific adjustment page within Asset I see under Known Control Points: Linux UPnP/1.0 Sonos/19.3-56060 (MDCR_iMac11,1).

    I defined this Rule Based Profile at the left side of the panel:

    =Sonos
    [StreamMax16Bit]
    [StreamMax48KHz]
    *

    Also after a restart of Asset the Sonos controller still displays a sample rate which is to high to be played.

    Thanks a lot for any help!

    You would have to enable streaming for the formats in question. These options only come into effect when Asset changes the stream.

      Thanks for your answer! What format should I choose for Flacs? 'as is single' would be ok and what does it mean? Do I have any losses in quality on my High End Linn equipment due to enabling this kind of streaming?

      Thanks, Otto

        You would have to enable Wave streaming, for example.

          Hi,
          I have a similar issue with my Reciva radio (Sangean WFR-20) which is not HiRes capaple. My Music files are stored as flac (+ a very small number as mp3 or WAV). I can stream my ripped CDs without any problem. In order to listen to Hires files as well I made the following entry at the Control Point Specific adjustment page:

          "=Reciva
          [ForceToWAVE]
          *
          [StreamMax16Bit]
          [StreamMax48KHz]"

          I have also tried:
          "=Reciva
          [ForceToMP3]"

          I then restarted both AssetUpnP and the radio. Unfortunately it does not work: Whenever I try to stream a HiRes file I get some strange noise from my radio (beep beep or so).

          NB: Under "Known Control Points"Within Asset, there is an entry "Reciva [...]"

          Thanks for any idea how to correctly transcode the HiRes for my radio.

          Post scriptum: In the general settings, all formats (except .m4a) are set to stream "as is"

            Are you using Asset R4.1?

              Yes, an AssetNAS running R4.1.

                Try enabling debug mode, restart asset, serve one file to the player then look at the debug file, it will show what Asset did with that file.

                  Thank you. Tried and verified. It was probably a typo (Wave/kHz/mp3 instead of WAVE/KHz/MP3). There are still frequent dropouts esp with 192/24 files and the replay is uneven when I use transcode to Wave/48/16; when forced to transcode to mp3 it works. When I use the Twonky App for iPod as the control point, streaming (WAVE/48/16) is ok. Probably 44.1KHz is the max a WFR-20 can correctly handle when it is the control point and the client. Can I define a lower maximum frequency ?

                    It is not possible to set 44KHz there.
