In Vista I have the "Length" column displayed in folders. When I go into a folder it takes a long time to show all the tracks. Is there anything I can do to speed it up?

Not if Windows is scanning the files to work out their lengths, but saying that the filenames should be instant, only the length items should be slower.

The file names used to show immediately. However I've formatted my hard drive and reinstalled Windows recently and now the file name only show after several seconds. Any idea what setting I should change to make them load quickly?
You are using dBpoweramp?

I have DB Poweramp installed. I'm just viewing a folder with MP3s in, in Windows Explorer.
Try uninstalling dBpoweramp, if it is still slow then it is not dBpoweramp which is the cause.
