    Audio Dropouts

Hi - Having SERIOUS issues with my RIPNAS Statement playing through my Linn DS system...

    Here are the facts....

I have a RIPNAS Statement with HDD - it also has 2 x USB disks (another 1tb in total) attached and the drive is extended to include them.

    I do not mirror.

I'm on the latest version of Asset.

    I have 110000 tracks - all FLAC

    I have 2 x Linn DS - a Klimax and a Sneaky

Both DS are set to PLAYLIST

I use various Control Points - mainly Kinsky and Chorus, on both iPad and iPhone.

I've rebuilt the database several times - no better - although the process is much quicker in asset 4

    Network backbone is gigabit.

DS and RIPNAS are connected to different Netgear Switches

I experience dropouts at the end of every track - like gapless isn't working - and also a dropout at random points in just about every track.

The dropouts happen on 16 bit and 24 bit.

I've had the problem for several months - but it's getting worse.

Happy to send screenshots of configuration as required...

Any suggestions? ...seems I'm not the only one with these issues.

Enable debug for Asset (advanced configuration options >> general settings), restart asset, play a track to the end and allow the 2nd track to start, then copy the debug information here please.

RIPNAS has now recovered from its near death experience - but these issues remain - recently replaced both switches in the network (now Netgear GS108) but no improvement...

...has the log yielded any clues?

It gave some hints (it seems the player is requesting the file 2 or 3 times...), so something is not quite right. I have another beta to get out the door then I can look at R4.1 of Asset

Very interesting - additional background - both the Klimax DS and the Sneaky DS have the issue...

Intrigued by the 4.1 update to asset referring to a memory leak - i wonder if this will fix my (still persistent) problem?

Install the Windows 7 version on WHS through remote desktop.

    Re: Sorry, what

Installed the Win7 version (after first uninstalling the WHS version) and....

    ...still dropping out like mad...

Twonky running from my Mac remains rock solid - RIPNAS hardware fault?

    Re: Sorry, what

Difficult to say, you would have to try Asset on a computer that is not the RipNAS, even the mac with crossover.
