Tried Album Art for the first time this morning and really liked how it worked. The only problem I had was that I couldn't successfully select art from PerfectTunes. It loaded for a moment (Vista aero ring spun) but then it didn't save until I selected something different. Was that because of a pixel size cap? Wasn't sure. I can try to get a dump file later if you like.

The actual writing is done in the background, it can take 10 or 30 seconds for an album to update, once updated it should update to the screen.

Ah, I see that it's working, however the "Choose Album Art" window doesn't close automatically like it does after selecting from any of the other sources.
Btw, I'm on Windows Vista 64 Home Premium SP2

The Choose Art Window is a manual selection page, you click on an art and it becomes an hour glass and waits forever?

Basically yes, if I click on an art from PerfectTUNES, the cursor goes into busy mode for about 4 seconds and then nothing happens. I've tried waiting for long periods too. If I close the window manually at that point (cursor click on "X") then it applies the changes and uses the art I selected from PerfectTUNES.

When I click on any other art--not from PerfectTUNES--the Choose Art Window closes by itself and applies the changes straight away. It seems to "sleep" only after I pick something from PerfectTUNES.

Hi Spoon - I realise it's not listed as running on it but will PerfectTUNES run ok on WHS 2011? I'm running the album art checker on my main PC on a music backup there, but Asset runs on a WHS 2011 server and as it looks as if it's going to take 24 hours I'd rather it was the server on all night rather than the PC as the latter's very noisy.

    Thanks

    Mick

Yes it would run on WHS 2011, if you remote desktop connected.

How fast of a PC do I need to safely run PerfectTunes Album Art? I have an old, slow Pentium 4 server running XP (SP3) in the basement hosting 1.2 TB of FLAC files using Asset 4.0. Should I run PerfectTUNES on that PC or run it on my AMD Phenom II X4 965 with 10 GB RAM with Windows 7 (64 bit) over the network? If it is listening to every track, I may be sitting here for a very long time.

I would use the faster PC, even though over the network.

Is it kosher to load the beta on two different PCs? I also have a MP3 library of the same songs as the FLAC files for my kids and their iPods.

Album Art is missing some subfolders in my file structure.

    For example:
f\FLAC A-C\Music\Albert King has 8 subfolders containing 8 separate albums in FLAC.

Album art only shows 7 subfolders (7 albums) in the Albert King folder

The Allman Brothers Band folder has 9 subfolders (9 albums) but Album Art only shows 7 subfolders (7 albums).

    Please advise.

I have folders for very similar CDs. For instance:
Allman Brothers Band\1973 - Brothers and Sisters
Allman Brothers Band\1973 - Brothers and Sisters (MFSL)

Album Art appears to ignore the parenthesis and combines all the tracks from the two CDs as one CD. So the artwork for Brothers and Sisters gets combined with the tracks for Brothers and Sisters (MFSL). I want the artwork to be separate for the two different pressings of the CD. I don't see how I can do this yet.

    Albums where you have:

    Artist - Album
    Artist - Album (xyz)

are not going to be handled correctly, as the album is seen as one.
