Problem with directory names with "." in name

I was converting some FLAC to MP3 files today. dBpoweramp told me it was finished, but I could not find the resultant MP3 files where I expected them. I verified the Output Folder field was correctly set as Original Folder. I ended up using Win7 search for the file and it located it, but it had created a new directory without the "." in the name. The original folder was d:\Downloads\.NewsBin. It placed the converted files in the d:\Downloads\NewsBin folder.

I'm using: dBpoweramp Music Converter: Registered Reference
    Release 14.2
    DSP Effects: Release 7

Asset UPnP: UPnP (DLNA) Audio Server

    dBpoweramp CD Writer:
    Audio CD burning simplicity

    Thanks,

    Chris

Re: Problem with directory names with "." in name

In Windows 7 I just tried to create a folder named .NewsBin and got an error message saying "You must type a file name". It sure looks like windows does not like folder names beginning with a period. If you try to rename a folder so that it ends in a period Windows 7 simply renames without the trailing period.

dMC is simply following Windows rules.
