Can you give more info on this? I've been through my BIOS settings and I don't see a way to do what you suggested here. I would love to make this writer work on this Win7 computer. Thanks!

The above was for pc geeks. For non pc geeks I will explain further:

The BIOS or UEFI is the instruction set to tell the computer what to do and how to do it. To access the BIOS/UEFI typically press or toggle the Delete key (sometimes its one of the F keys) during the startup after the beep sound.
I have not worked with UEFI so I will continue with BIOS.
      1. Go to where the sata groups are listed (on my pc it is "advanced BIOS settings").
      2. A user manual is very useful at this point to tell you which sata ports are grouped together. On my board there are 3 groupings that can be set individually.
3.The main sata group I set to AHCI for my SSD's (Solid State Drives). A second sata group I set to IDE. This is done in the BIOS or UEFI as described above.
      4. Attach The CD/DVD/BRD to the sata group dedicated to IDE.
      5. Enjoy this outstanding software

Mr. Spoon it may be good to sticky this information. Make your own sticky thread if you like. I dont want any credit. Hopefully it will save you some headache by not having to answer the same question repeatedly
Thank you for creating this great software.
the same happened with me, any solution?

As shive said, this is a compatibility issue with AHCI (associated with SSDs) and CD writer. Not all Bios have the ability to select AHCI or IDE mode to different devices. My Gigabyte H55 motherboard bios can only select AHCI or IDE for all devices (under integrated peripherals). So if you have the option that shive has, go for it. Otherwise until CD writer is compatible with AHCI (and SSD requirements) look elsewhere. dbpoweramp is a very amazing product with lots of other very unique traits.

As a workaround, one could change the bios to IDE mode temporarily, everything should work, run CDWriter, then reboot, change bios back to AHCI. I have not tried this, but SSDs should work in IDE mode; my understanding is that TRIM does not function in IDE mode. Another method may be to burn the CD to a temp directory with CD writer, then use a CD burning program to burn the CD. Again, I have not tried this, but that should work.

I have an ASUS running Windows 8. It has a dvd writer. The dbpoweramp burner says "no cd writer". Is there anyway to get it to use the dvd drive?

If you go into the BIOS and change the SATA controller from AHCI to IDE it might show.
