Q: why is PS3 set as ForcetoWave

Why is the PS3 set like this in the Settings Override?

I mean, why forced to anything? And if it must be, why not LPCM?

The PS3 could not play lpcm, it is forced to wave as I have seen it struggle to decode standard encoded mp3 files.

Thanks for the help Spoon!
So I'm still a bit confused. When I look at the track on the PS3, I can hit the triangle button to get info.

When I have Asset set [ForceToMP3], the PS3 shows MP3 128.
When I have Asset set to [ForcetoLPCM], the PS3 says Linear PCM 16 bit.
When I have Asset set to [ForcetoWave] the PS3 says Linear PCM 16 bit. (doesn't say wave)
Wen I have deleted the "Forceto" the PS3 says Linear PCM 16 bit.

Am I missing something?

They might have updated the firmware in the mean time, WAVE and LPCM are the same (except the bytes are swapped).

One more question on this if I may...
With no [Forceto...] statement, why doesn't the PS3 just get FLAC and fail? I thought in that case the FLAC would get forwarded "as is". Does it autonegotiate for trascoding to PCM?

The PS3 cannot play flac.
