missing cover .m4a to FLAC to NAS
Hallo!
When r i p p i n g CDs to FLAC, then uploading it to NAS (Synology DS 211/
DSM 3.1-1748) i do see the cover
BUT when c o n v e r t i n g from iTunes Applelossless .m4a to FLAC:
I see the cover only when playing the FLAC-music locally via VLC.
after uploading (for steaming) no more Cover.
Why the difference?

Re: missing cover .m4a to FLAC to NAS
Select the m4a file, right click >> edit id tags, it should show the artwork at the bottom of the page. If it does not and you see the artwork in iTunes, then iTunes has the artwork locked away separately from the file.

But after converting .m4a to FLAC
I d o see the cover locally;
it is not hidden.
Only when uploading it to the NAS: no more cover.
(On the other hand after ripping: cover is seen everywhere).

Perhaps the problem is what ever media server is running on the NAS.

Re: missing cover .m4a to FLAC to NAS
HALLO!
The difference on the Mediaplayer:
ripped CDs appear with
"Folder.jpg"
converted .m4a appear with
"Thumbs.db"
What to do?

Re: missing cover .m4a to FLAC to NAS
Thumbs.db is not the artwork, if it is embedded in the file and you want the folder.jpg, then use the [ID Tag Processing] DSP set to export folder.jpg whilst converting.

Re: missing cover .m4a to FLAC to NAS
Thank you!
That's it.
Everything is fine now.
The only thing i am wondering about is:
before the proposed setting was done, locally by VLC i could see the Album Art work. That was confusing me. But by now it does not matter anymore:smile2:

Re: missing cover .m4a to FLAC to NAS
The art was embedded in the file.
