IPOD can't sample tracks at 88kHz

I converted some flac files to ALAC at 24/88 but my IPOD Classic 7th Gen can't sample at that high a rate. It samples at 44kHz just fine though. What do I do with my 24/88 files??

Reconvert and use the DSP Effect 'Resample' to lower it.
